Accelerated Reader is a self-paced, individualized computer-assisted reading program used in many of the public schools in our area. Children read books and then take computerized multiple-choice tests that measure their comprehension of the books.
Each school purchases different AR tests, depending on the needs and interests of their students. The Central Rappahannock Regional Library strives to make available as many of the Accelerated Reader titles as possible. If you don't find the books you're looking for, be sure to ask your librarian. She can usually get the books for you from another library branch or through Inter-Library Loan.
